SKIT Friends of the Theatre

SKIT’s Friends of the Theatre program needs your help!  Our goal this year is to expand our program, by increasing the number of supporters in the program and by increasing the money we raise.  Funding from Friends of the Theatre helps offset rising costs of production rights, royalty fees, rentals, material costs for sets and costumes and the like.  It is with the help of SKIT volunteers like yourself that we are able to accomplish so much and are able to bring professional quality youth theatre to our community.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Consider donating to the Friends of the Theatre program.  Even a small gift would be a big help.  We have revamped the program and are now including ticket giveaways for many donor categories.  If you can find it within your budget to make a donation, please use the enclosed Contributions form.  Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program.  This would make your gift twice as valuable.
    

2. Help us develop our base by supplying us with business referrals.  Think of the many local businesses you spend money with, i.e. companies that know you by name.  This could be anyone from your auto mechanic to your hair stylist to your orthodontist (a list of possibilities is included on the enclosed Business Referral form).  With over 150 active SKIT members, it is likely that many local businesses are patronized by SKIT families.  If you could supply us with contact info for your top 5 local businesses, we will contact them on your behalf and send info on the Friends of the Theatre program.  You need do nothing more than complete the enclosed Business Referral form by 11/30; we will do the rest.
    

3. Reach out to friends and family and ask if they want to participate in SKIT’s Friends of the Theatre program.  To make this easier for you, we have drafted a letter (sample enclosed) that you can download from www.showkids.org and personalize to fit your needs.  Typically, folks ask their children’s grandparents, aunts and uncles, family friends, employers, etc.  You can also download the Contributions form from the website to enclose with each letter you send.  Remember to write your child’s name on the line asking for the SKIT member’s name so you get credit for that donation.  Each family who raises $250 in donations in this way will receive a one-of-a-kind SKIT calendar as a token of our appreciation.
